This quilt was inspired by the Norwegian folk tale "East of the Sun and West of the Moon". Reading it again as an adult, took me back to my childhood looking up at the stars and dreaming of Utopia. With this quilt I wanted to capture the feeling as the little girl sets off riding on the back of the wind, to save her beloved prince...

New and thrifted cotton, linen and silk. Machine pieced, hand applique. Machine quilted and hand embroidered.

Exhibited with "Once Upon a Thread", Carrefour Patchwork and Textile Art juried group exhibition in 2022-23 and at my solo exhibition "Improvisation in Color", Sundnes Farm Summer Exhibitions, Inderøy, Norway in 2024.
