Storm on Jupiter
2021
82x120 cm.
The Great Red Spot with its beautiful red-orange hues, a fierceful raging anticyclon followed by scientists for centuries. I imagined it floating above the grey-blue and white swirling clouds of the giant of our solar system. Nothing solid to slow it down as it continues its fast spinning motion.
Machine sewn with cotton fabric and old clothing in various materials. Machine quilted with cotton batting and cotton thread. Hand quilted with cotton embroidery thread.
This quilt was part of the "Sauvage" juried exhibition with Carrefour European Patchwork and Textile Art in 2021.
